Project Description
HURRYING SLOWLY
oil on board 300 x 400 mm
2006 Fez
Collection: The Orient Boutique Hotel
This painting is all about ambiguity and paradoxes. The figure is obviously in a state of hurrying or scurrying but in the mysterious passageways of the Medinas, time is bound in a warp, and nothing seems to happen suddenly….
Coming or going? Light, or steeped in deep shadow? Exposed or concealed? Fleeing from oppression or rushing towards security? All these questions remain unanswered as some of Morocco’s enigmas.
